            • Managed to get the front end mocked up with some standard legs so I can get it sat on its wheels to weld the anti tramp bar brackets on the axle, should have done that before the axle was stripped to blast but hey ho shit happens.

If anything looks wrong please let me no as I've never put a mk2 together and it was bought in a load of bits!!

Also attached the tramp bars to the shell ready for axle going in, think these are on right way?????

                • You beat me to colour mate lol, mine is ready for the underside to be painted, but im not sure wether to put the wings back on first or not, and paint all the underside in one go.
I bet you cant wait to get the topside done.

If you want it, get it, before someone else beats you to it.

                  • Lol to the guard dog!

Was going to fit wings first tony but wanted to make sure I got in all the turret area with the sealer, also decided that if I fit everything up now suspension wise then sit it on the floor to fit the wings should keep the gaps good. Il then strip the suspension send all the bits off for blasting and hopefully put it on spit for the last time to seal the back sides of the wings and give the underside its last coat. That way I'm thinking when I get sick of rubbing filler down I can move onto the easy job of painting all the suspension components etc. that's if it goes to plan!

                    • Well made a bit more progress on the rear end set up this afternoon, decided to make make some spacer collars to centrally locate the lowering blocks on the springs I'm no expert with a lathe but managed ok and I'm quite proud of myself

Also made some to fit axle for lowering block to locate into. All are a nice snug fit so shouldn't be any room for error

Same collar showed on the block here

Also managed to get some shock mount plates (cheers mark) but the threads had been snapped off the end so popped into local stockist for some new material to make a new rod/pin for both sides. Used EN 8 grade steel same as what hydraulic rams are made from nice and strong and welds without turning brittle, turned the ends down to m12 and cut a thread on them then welded into position.
Should be a lot stronger than the original set up and less chance of threaded part snapping in future

Hopefully back on its wheels tommorow first the first time in at least 6 or 7 year could even be more!

It was a nice feeling knowing that its mainly just the inside and outside to paint now
