Old sills are there till its solid as the top of the door step is still the orignal.
Front pillars complete right up to factory joints.
Old gearbox tunnel was scrap,so used the complete tunnel to under the seat crossmember.
All fitted
Is this officially called extreme restoration! I know ringers like front or back halving cars but this level of repair is insane...........didn't look that bad at the start! Now i'm worried about bringing mine down for a look see - probably end up with a Mini!
Yep its major for sure!!!
This is the cheapist way to do it,the new panels just for the front end added up to £3000 alone.
And there is more orignal ford welds left doing it this way
We also looked at the shell before is was blasted and it looked ok
Amazing what dodgy filler work and seal sealer can hide.
nice work chaps but one question i must ask...........Are you working in a large tent? Looks like it in the pics, knowing my luck a grind in the wrong direction and the lot would be gone in a flash. (or is it one of those cheap rates buildings lol) Keep up the hard work going to be another cracker!

Yes its a large tent we were using it in the winter to keep some heat it! We work out of a converted barn and its freezing in the winter.
All welded on and all jig/strut top brackets bolted up.
Inner "a" post welded back on factory joint.
Ready for new floors
Measurements on strut tops to within 1mm
nice work darren.
sure some resto work going in to this.
as u say the cheapest way.
as if it was done other ways the price would go thu the roof .
it is the time thats cost the most a would say .
not realy the body parts.
keep up the good work.am impressed with ur stander of work u sure no the job on these s escorts .
keep it up
will be watching.
Marks been busy last couple of weeks,
Rs bits added to inner wings,
Cut down to correct height.
Spot welds in the correct place for a late rs shell.
As we used a geunine ford front end the slam panel needed conveting to rs spec.
Orignal gearbox tunnel was scrap, but we saved the rs top gear stick plate and refitted to the new tunnel.
Mark even mig welded the back edge of the plate,,to just look "right"
Rs2000 dashboard panel welded back in,
Found a new o/s 1/4 panel today for the shell today, just a good pair of doors to find..
More pictures to follow soon...ish!!!
