    That's pretty good considering these are 30 year old Escorts, and allowing for measuring inaccuracies and use and abuse. Were these two cars built in the same country? And were they from the same year, i.e. suspension pickup points????

      This one cross measured within 2 mm.

      But guess ford would of been a bit random.
      Were going to go with this shell as a bench mark to repair the rs shell.
      At least it won't need adjustable suspension!!!

      Quite a bit will be cut off the 4-door shell to repair all the bad bits on the rs shell.
      It needs to many panels from express panels,,,would cost too much so were better off using used orignal ford panels.

              Dropped the rs on the jig and braced it up for the cut.
              Will weld the front up and chassis legs on the jig to keep it straight.

                Few more of the rough bits!!
                Normal escort patching up,,all will be cut out and the rollcage mounts!!

                  Front bulkhead tubbs beaten in at some point these will go for a replacement genuine bulkhead and poor repairs.
                  Rollcage mounts have made the inner tubs scrap! so were going for good used inner rear tubs.
                  More pictures to follow.

                      Don't be scared of the cutting discs boys, only one way to do them, cut it out and let in new panels.

                      These Escorts are always full of surprises whether they were £500 or £15,000

                            Were not too sure what to do about the rear 1/4s yet,
                            Here's a few pictures,,new ones would be great!! Were looking at a used pair next week.
                            Yes there plates welded in everywhere!!!!!




                            We already have rust free inner tubs o replace these.




                            Thats it for now,,,where a few days ahead in the workshop,,,but now sorting for the lakes

                              Thats had some savage repairs over the years! Suprised that steering mount is still attached.
                              I done a mini pickup recently, looked good as bought, once started cutting it was a mess.
                              220 hours of panel work to put it right.
                              You,ve got some hours to put in on this one.
