Just a word to say a big thankyou to all the people that i met at the lakes this weekend and all the positive comments that i received about the car.It ran faultlessly and was good fun to drive.Although it was a quick project it also seems epic when i look back through this thread.
The icing on the cake was to receive two awards for my work which really makes me proud as it is awarded by people who know their stuff.
I really enjoyed the weekend and was made to feel welcome by members from this board.Thanks again.See you next year...

Just a little update.I have now covered well over a 1000 miles since the resto.I did it to use it,and i have..Did an oil change and tappet check last week.Nothing else to report other than its been totally reliable and i absolutely love driving it.The good weather recently has meant i have used it at any opportunity.
The biggest suprise is the reaction of other drivers.Its not,as expected,the 40-50 year olds,its the 20 somethings that seem to absolulety love it and i get a reaction whenever i go out.even the missus loves it!!!We even went food shopping to sainsburys yesterday in it!
