Well i've just done a 150 mile trip to get the special order head gasket and when i get home and open the box it's wrong !!! Foooooooooookin typical , it's miles too thick and the wrong bore size . The Yank who posted that was smoking crack .
Fitting that will lose me 10-20bhp so sod that . Back too the drawing board then .

Struggled like fooook on my own fitting the gearbox this afternoon but it's all fitted now . I must buy a bigger jack as crawling around with the car 12 inches off the floor is a nightmare . I almost gave up but swore at it whist jammed underneath and it went in , lol .
Hopefully i can do a few late nights down the garage after work this week too speed things up a bit and get it back on the road soon .

                        Cheers chaps .
Not done much of late except fitted a few bits to the block and then spent hours flushing out the old oil from all the pipe runs in the dry sump system .
The best way to do this is by spinning the dry sump pump with a drill with only the main oil line from the tank connected and then connect one pipe at a time and pump clean oil through each section at a time . Do this until it's gushing out the final pipe back at the main oil tank . That way you make sure each pipe is cleared and you relieve the boredom as you see some progress every few mins . I used cheap oil from Tescos at 12 quid for 4 litres for this task plus you can use it for running in the new engine as well .
Also when priming a dry sump oil system after a re-build/oil change always take off the cam cover and check that the oil is squirting out of the galleries up top as well as getting someone inside the car checking the oil pressure is ok . It's easy to get oil pressure sometimes but if the oil isn't fully up inside the head you're in trouble when you fire it up (head gasket back too front , sealer blocking a hole etc ,etc ) so always check .
Hope that helps anyone who's new to dry sump systems because when i first fitted mine i couldn't find out any decent info like that .

Ok folks , winter hibernation is over so i'm now back sorting the car for this seasons action .
Cam timing done , resprayed ex-manifold and fitted , throttle bodies on , coil pack in , re-done my crank trigger set up , bolt in core plugs machined down to fit the new block and fitted , new petrol hoses , etc .
Sent the cam cover off for a re-spray so just waiting for that too come back and then i can fire it up . BAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRP .
Then it's brake mods/alterations , new front anti-roll bar , lower front springs or coil overs (not sure yet) , bit of paintwork , take out the roll cage so my sons car seat can be fitted and then it's dyno testing etc . Hopefully more power than before = faster .
