Thought i would have a "day off" from the harder stuff on the car and decided to layout the console and switchgear for the new part (Below)
fitting it 'dry' was easy and gives quite a lot of additional space for switches, cut out, lifeline equipement, etc and it does look in keeping with the rest of the interior and does not look too much like non original equipement, therefore, after a bit of work..............................
fits quite well and still plenty of room for the Aux switches (fan, etc) and also the circuit breakers (Y'see Leon, i did take your advice ), thought id offer it up for efffect
thought to myself "bollocks" ........lets fit the carpet as well to see how i need to alter the (original RS) centre console which i will also be customising to fit, also gives me an idea of how much wiring i had to alter / re route so that it is not visible when the car is completed
needs a little tidying up, but overall well pleased with it, and i have also fitted the clock / pod, and the glovebox will also go back in nice and snug.
aim is to have a "comfortable, practical interior" rather than the stripped out effect,

carpets will be kept, along with the kick panels, glove box, etc - the amount of weight they contribute is nothing compared to the refinement they offer, ...... gotta have some where to keep the sweetie's whilst on the stage, besides, only the best in luxury for you dave when i chauffer you one day....................

part from them, it looks well sorted
carpet is minty mint, and as for the centre console........will be a shame to butcher it to fit
