i started on the old girl yesterday, the long awaited transformation into top spec group 4 rallycar from nice steady roadgoing car.
Hopefully i will not be writing about it this time next year as the plan is to have it completed during the summer months and hopefully getting it up to Donington for national day.

Gotta laugh at this line from the first post dated april 2005
bought a sump guard today (and some more minilites ), looks a good set up with flush captive bolts underneath, off to the garage now to see how it all bolts together

pics please now you tease, are they 8" gold minilites
The sump guard was quite an expensive piece of Kit, considering that basically it is a sheet of alloy and some box section stel, however what a lovelly bit of kit it is, (once i had worked out what bracket goes where, and what part of the car it fits ) with all captive threads and everything shaped beautifully to fit the contours of the underside, well worth the expense for the finished job.
i also took the time to fit the front towing eye and also re paint / touch up the front (new) ARB, TCA, and other suspension bits that got 'knocked' whilst moving the sumpguard about
8mm alloy plate , managed to eventually work out where it all went
first job was to clean back the area around the ARB mounting brackets, as the alloy brackets mount to these inside the wheel arch, looks a bit messy as i cleaned back a few layers of underseal / shite, back to bare metal and a couple of coats of Rustkiller / primer
and a trial fit of all the brackets etc before some paint
