Now at the blasters for paint removal with plastic media. Slightly harder stuff used for rusty bits. Guaranteed not to distort any panels I'm told...

Picked the shell up today. Perfect job.

Inside too, left the sound proofing as requested.

And found the VIN number too

Engine bits back from Vulcan - build under way

                  Goodies

Pocketed 1300cc Pistons and crank. I hadn't realised the pistons come teflon coated for low friction like modern engines!

Inlet ports - head face drilled for matched manifold dowels. Vulcan recommends single springs until run-in to a void wiping the cam, then fit inners.

Block bored to 1700cc and wired, ready to go

                  Crank installed

Bottom end assembled with lots of lube. Cam installed. Set TDC with DTI, pointer on flywheel.

                  ARP Studs in

                  Timing in the cam

                            Gearbox rebuild

Gearbox rebuild. General clean up, new bearings, seals, gaskets, reverse gear idler and first and second synchroniser rings and bronze top hat bush. Also some new layshaft needle rollers and layshaft which was totally crackered. Now perfect

                              Engine finished

Engine now finished. Needs a couple of bits and I have to drill and tap the front and rear of the rocker cover for breather unions.
