Will be collecting some MK2 Rolltops from John tomorrow, just bought from this Forum but will need to have recovered.

Now I know Aldridge Trimming do the covers at around £285 and (I thinK) want another £200 to do the work, but Classic Trim apparently do an exchange system.

Or do you chaps go down another route ?

      Many thanks........

Cheers for "Seat Covering" info...........(and the encouraging remarks)

I've have a word with John Speller as he knows Paul Ruddy from doing the body work on his RS2000.

A little way off having them covered but just need to work out how far the budget will stretch !!!!!!!!!!

In fact make that the budgets knackered, but I'm in this far

Bit of an update as I've just returned from working away...........

John Speller has now applied the "Linex" to the underside of the Escort - "Very pleased".

Think it's the first RS to go through this process ????

Just the finish, "no" better than what I was really hoping for.

The pictures do not do the finish justice............

              It's like having the car plastic/rubber coated.............."Perfect"

Full Respray next.........it'll almost be a shame to use it when it's finished !!!!!!!!!!!!

                      hi

like the look of your car, just got myself a RS2000 resto project, and was wondering what you used to strip the underside of your car and have u any more info on the linex underseal stuff.

                        Hi Lynx,

Firstly the underside was Shotblasted at low pressure to make sure there was no damage to the metal.

That removed alot of the paint etc, but it still left some of the original underseal. That had to be removed buy hand and is a real time consuming process (pain in the arse) - as most of the people on here will tell you.

As for the Linex give John Speller a ring (Tel: 01524 66611)..............he knows the ins and outs of the stuff.

All I can say is I would recommend...........I'm a paying customer and would do the same again to another project (that's if I could stomach another one !!!!!!)

Hope this helps a little ?
