Yes it's the back main leaking I think, and it soaks the gearbox mounting too. Driving me mad as this was a new Ford seal fitted in there. I'm going to try a cossy one next time, but I'm not fancying that job for a while.

                        • A very nice job done on the carb Iain. Many overlook changing the power valve as it is not usually included in a service kit. Well worth getting it all done properly as it will help make the car more reliable.

                          • strut refurb

its winter again so started taking things apart again as you do wasnt 100% happy with my suspension , managed to get a pair of standard RS struts a while ago ,so started to refurbish them today,as stated in a previous thread i had purchased a good while ago a pair of nos strut inserts but found out on here that they are capri items and were to long for the casings but today as i was stripping them this spacer fell out of the strut so tried the inserts in again and they just about fit into the casing ,could i leave this spacer out ( it was at the bottom of the casing)

strut before and after used nitromors to get the paint of

                            • the casings are in really good order no rust what so ever and look to be straight so hopefully have a fully standard setup as i managed to buy a pair of new old stock standard rear shocks as well about 2 or 3 years ago ,will be able to use the steering arms, top mounts etc of the existing bilstein struts
