Finally tried on the rear discs and they fitted ok
got my mate to remove the rear hubs/discs of his ka as he has the standard focus rear discs, but when he took them off he realised the hubs were identical, it was the carrier bracket that bolts on to the hub that is different, so we just swapped carriers and discs... pic below
just need to paint the hubs and calipers and they can be bolted on, all my 12.9 zinc cap head bolts arrive to day so just waiting for the polybush spring mounts to come and then the beam and all bits attached to it can finally be bolted up tight...
Chris
Left Carrier - standard 2.0 focus / Right Carrier - focus st170
Cam Cover in 2pack diamond white, just needs a carbon fibre lug lead cover to finish off
that be a wee minter when ur finshed .
u have lots eh goodies going on. hat on to u m8.
keep up the good work and the pics comeing .
be good to see this one...............
Rear beam all polybushed and bolted on, just need to paint the rusty hubs and calipers and then i can get the wheels fitted and get cracking on fitting the 2.0 lump, the longer bolts on the bottom of the strut is for the anti roll bar which i haven't bought yet...
trial fitted the wheel on one side the wheel sits in line with the outer edge of the arch so sits perfectly but theres a lot of back space between the wheel and shocker so reckon if i can measure it all and get the offset right i think i might get 9's to fit and put the 8's on the front difficult getting a tidy size tyre for the 8 dont want it a stretched tyre like i have now or have too fat a tyre, i deally i want a 215 50 13 but hard tyre to get
Finally - got the 2 litre zetec lump fitted, had probs fitting the flywheel when i over torqued one of the bolts and snapping its head off, of came the flywheel and i had to weld a nut on the end of it to get it out - came out first luckily... not happy with the modified bmw engine mounts so might bite the bullet and bye some vibratechnics instead....
gonna fit the exhaust manifold next and get a quickshift kit for the gear linkage, i can get all the exhaust all bolted up then... in two minds whether to just run with the standard ecu and inlet/injectors just to get the car running, gonna clean up all the standard hubs so i can get the legs fitted and then get my mate to make up the driveshafts, the aim is to get the car on all four wheels by xmas
