                • Little bit of an update:

Got some CDS tubing today so worked on a few hours after work to make a brace across the front roll cage so i had something solid to bolt the corsa b power steering column too, need to get the escort bias pedal box bolted up solid so i can make a bracket from that to the column, next bit i got to figure out is to join the knuckle of the corsa to the fiesta rack.... once all thats done i'll remove the front part of the cage and seam weld all the joints and paint the brace satin black

Gaz are gonna exchange my rear springs for a softer LB as the rear of the car is sitting too high, i had a set of standard mk2 xr2 springs which ive cut in half and fitted them for now and it looks and sits a lot better

                              • A small update

got all the roll cage bolted down solid and teh front half all painted after welding in teh brace for the column... next step is to mount the pedal box then i can bolt the steering knuckle/column finally and it'll have proper steering for the first time in years... got a peter lloyd suede deep dish steering wheel and C.Bradley Motorpsort extended billet alloy boss, got a quick release to fit also just need a steel plate cadded up so i can fit that but no rush as yet......

ive had the footrest a while and thought id do something a bit different, it was plain alloy when i had it, so i painted it satin black then made a template out of vinyl and then traced them on to skateboard grip tape and cut it all out with a scissors, a lot of patience and time when into it, gonna do similar with the drivers foot plate.. also added the horn button to the footrest

Got the rear side glass all fitted ended up using the original clear glass to save on cash, which fitted easily, not so easy waas the rear screen, spent 2 hours trying to get the glass to fit but no joy, couldnt make it out and then it twigged i heard someone mention before that the mk1 windscreens were bigger than mk2 screens, but didnt realise it applied to the rear also.... so when i checked with other glass i had it was true lol.... i had mk1 glass but was trying to fit it with mk2 rubber quick change of rubber and it flew in in 5 mins

so after that ordeal we fitted the front screen, had planned on using a supersport tinted one when i got it out of the pile of parts it had a scratch on the screen - gutted.... so on with the clear...

door glass left to fit this week and and that'll keep the inside all clean, and then onto the wiring, i bought an escort mk2 centre console but it was too short so got the company to make a deeper one for me... been buying all the fuse holders, relays, switches, cut off etc... ready for making up a wiring diagram so i can get the console all wired up... gonna work on the lighting, wipers, indicators first, then onto the engine bay last and clocks

                                Chris
