  • chris i think a nice fabricated washer would work with the lamp brackets, they also bend easilly with a bit off heat to contour round the front panel, or just cut the bottom bit off and drill another two holes where the panel is flush with the brackets

    • not sure what to do yet, was gonna cut a slice in the rear bracket and bend it to the shape and then get the gap welded up with ally, and then cut the front bracket shorter and re drill / tap a new hole, you dont see the bracket when the bumpers on gonna get the brackets powder coated black also, was surprised the mk2 brackets fitted so well.

yeah would be cool, gonna see if i can get a cheap square lamp grill, still waiting on taffr to give a measurement of his car to see how far off it is to the fes, i know the rear bumper was 2" too long, so guessing the front wont be far off, if anyones got a grill at home that they could measure that would be a great help.

theres a square lamp grill on the bay of e but thats £45 +p&p might give darran a pm see what hes got

                  • Went into work for a few hours this morning, wanted to get the escort bumpers sorted, theyve been a right fiddle to sort had to make all new brackets, because theyre fibreglass they 're flimsy so taken ages to get them to look right they dont look right in the pics they should sit ok once the bolts are all tightened up, had to take a grinder to the rear of the xr2 indicators as there was enough room between the front panel/bumepr, now i know why the mk2 escort front panels have a recessed dip in them lol, ive only got 2x super oscars so done a basic photoshop to see how the 4 look, think the lamps sit to close to the xr2 headlamps so when i go in next i'll un bolt them and move them over one bolt hole, finally all the holes in the front panel make sense now the quarter bumpers are on.

rear bumper is all joined back together, just need to add a little bit more filler and get some number plate lights cut into the bumper

day off tom to watch the rally, back in on tuesday to try and sort getting the bonnet fitted and start cutting up the scuttle panel
