I've been reading this with some interest I'm hoping it turns up very soon like all of us. I am sure the car was for sale as it said this in the magazine it was featured in. So if anyone has viewed it they should be the top of the list of suspects I would say ?

I've had a car stolen, the only emotion I had was "where the ****s my car ?", your all talking as if the guys had a bereavement, it's a car for ****s sake and no doubt worth more as insurance claim than it would fetch on the open market .

There are people getting far worse news everyday than having their car stolen, five pages of sympathy is a bit much IMO but I am old and very cynical.

Having lost 3 fit and healthy friends in their 40's to heart attacks in the last couple of weeks has made me realise that cars are nothing more than chunks of metal that can be replaced.

Your family and friends and the time you have with them is more important than any car

Agree to a point, but if the car stands you in at X thousand pounds you are going to be in "financial shock", after all a car is the second most expensive purchase most people make...
If they loose the full value or even only a "few grand" it will be a load of stress they could well have done without.

No comparison to hearing that you or someone close has a serious illness or has passed away though...

The refrence to emotional was with regard to some one invadeing and violating your personal space and not to a lump of metal.

It is no different than been burgled and some scrote rifleing through your home and personal possesions

Yeah it definitely says in my copy of the mag that the escort was for sale and to contact Paul through the magazine didn't get to hear how much it was.

If you read my post again I was referring to the "average person" and "general public" that would not view an RS1800 as any different to a normal Escort MKII. Of course to Ford fans it wouldn't blend in we'd know it was something special and take notice but to most people its a white Escort with a blue stripe, the average person doesn't say "OMG RS1800"

What are the chances of moving one tho without somone noticing it

I am very much with Martin on this, there is a lot more to life than cars, have recently has a missing nephew who thank god after 2 weeks is alive and well back in the safe keeping of the immediate family, which brings me back to a very important point, I love my cars don't get me wrong, I have a very very nice mk2 RS2000 Custom which on my local forum I recently described as a 'tin can albeit a very nice tin can', my point is we are passionate about our old skool fords and that is fantastic but back to basics these are material belongings and family counts the most! I within my time have seen the good, the bad and believe me the ugly of society partly due to my career in the oil and gas industry which has brought me face to face with certain radical beliefs in some less than favourable parts of the world and I sh17 you not when I say my life has been in the balance before, i perhaps have had a bit of a reality check and seen some nasty stuff of the 'life shortening terrorist kind', your kids are only small for a short time so enjoy them, your family are exactly that, yours so cherish them and on top of this enjoy what you have, the cars are a very nice bonus and a nice to have. Hey on a positive note owning a classic ford is a luxury at the end of the day so enjoy them.

Yea, my poor old mum had heart surgery on Monday and is still in intensive care !!!

Oh and yes I have had a car stolen so i know what that feels like too!

I have to say the vast majority of ordinary people wouldnt even give a mk2 Escort a second glance, never mind an RS1800.. I hope it is found but after having a car stolen from myself I am not too optimistic, we all need to keep our eyes open
