                        Too right Lee! I'm taking this very seriously - fortunately I've got a big warehouse forecourt to practice on and the little village where the bike is exits on to completely deserted country roads. In Germany there are also no hedges so that's a good safety factor.

                        I was also planning to buy a couple of refresher hours with an instructor. Just down the road about 20km there's the ADAC (German AA) safety training centre too.

                        I've already got every bit of safety clothing money can buy - including armadillo backplates etc. When I put the stuff all on I feel like Han Solo. (You know, the scene where he's been cast in carbomite?)

                            its all the other dozy idiots you have to look out for!!! nice choice of bike btw, i kinda prefer the GS range, but they are all good. ive never ridden a shaft drive, but no chain oiling, scoop!
