i think i would prefer big HP to come in lower down the rev range to be honest. less strain on components surely. and it wouldnt sound like you are really trying when you were blatting along. 425bhp is not to be sniffed at, am curious to know the torque figure ( or have i missed it? ) why insist on high revs for power to come in, its not a bloody motorbike.......

T4 doesn't spool up till 4k properly.....he has the same power as mine almost at said rpm, but mine is just getting going then...who is insisting on high RPM ?
Its a turbocharged car, bigger the blower the higher the rev band needs to be, its fairly simple to understand i think.
This is my graph.
This is another t4 graph
This is another t4 Graph which makes simular power @ about 22psi.

Its easy...
More boost = more air = more power.....But more boost = more heat which is a fine line to be = less power....
38psi is out the compressor map of a t4 so the heat increase's and costs power....so more boost is not always good, as you can see 38psi makes less power than 26psi, so either the mapping is not very good or the engine can't use the air.
Boost is measured in PSI so one and the same thing...
detonation happens in all engines, so I would put that in google LOL
I don't know anything about turbo's either, just know that a T4 feels awesome but to have it capped at 5500 is not brilliant as you can see from the graphs.

dingy, check my own graph out..............
as you can clearly see, with yourself, huge amounts of turbo knowledge give off very little in the way of boredom, unfortunately, with me, there is a little interest initially, but very quickly trails off to a point where i am ready for bed......
thanks for your description btw

Boredom is a NA MK2 LOL....
Each to there own, take the pish all you like as i was merely saying about the power level of the mk1 isnt good for air being moved.
Proper negative attitude you have lee, top stuff, your just like ban-SH1T. :faroah:

sorry mate, i'm only playing. i am the same with everyone...............
please dont take it personaly. i did add that i was infact grateful for your discription.
i think the only person who likes my humour on here is paul spence, and he has to have a great sense of humour, as he lives oop north.........

to much boost and the fuel leaning out causing pinking just the same a N/A setup, just a hell of a lot more heat involved on a turbo car and not to long you melt the crown of the piston.
