Possible end of a very long era

I have always had an RS Escort since I was 17. I will turn 50 in November & will certainly enter this chapter without an RS.
To me, the time is right to flit the nest so to speak as I have been disillusioned with the whole scene for some time now. I have done the predictable thing & jumped ship to Porsche.
Loved my time with the cars & made many hopefully life long friends. But nowadays too many money men involved & the whole attitude has changed & not for the better.
Whether I have made a mistake only I can say. I have to try..............

Know how you feel ....I've lost my interest in the clubs .....but not the cars, Glad I kept my cars really.

can remember being on the club stands many years ago when OKO was parked next to REG, but that was a few years ago, and the club was full of enthusiasts ...not pension pot fillers lol

Good luck if you decide to go ..but as some have said your true friends will not care what you drive only increase the banter

I know exactly where you are coming from Kev , although I still own a RS and will do for a long time to come , I just don't feel the real passion for cars at the moment , motorbikes interest me more now
Im glad I sold my mk2 when I did , you know when you've had enough
Im sure I will still see you at some show or another

The cars are too valuable to be enjoyed properly now the investors have saw to that . I too have been a porsche guy for last few years and love a 911
