I know that but maybe its down to possible negative comments
I personally think these shells are perfect for restoring a rust bucket and if you want to go one step further and fit the RS bits thats all well and good
Hence the original question has any one done it yet

Not trying to be belligerent Alan, but isn't that what you have always campaigned against?
Rules are clear enough - you can re-shell a car legally with a new shell, doesn't have to be an original Ford part.
You can legally transfer the ID if at least 2 major components are retained. These can be engine, gearbox, axle & even the steering counts as a major component.
Might not suit everyone's opinion but them's the rules.

Point is if you are shelling a like for like that you own it is same as restoring the original
Its when people buy an RS log book and try to pass a car off as something its not that is naughty
People would be supprised how many RS Pops are out there
Any one who buys a used shell with no ID has to ask where it has come from
Oh and adding the RS strengthening bits was with refrence to the rally boys
