Serious question to you guys that have been banned and suspended...Do you forfeit your membership subs to the club ?
If I may add my comments on the RSOC please...
What a shame the RSOC has ended up like this.....Remember when a car for sale had loads of acronyms like BVR,BVH etc and RSOC car as a selling point due to the club being held in high esteem.....Thanks in no small part to a lot of people who visit this board putting in the hard work and commitment over a lot of years which brings me to my next point......
In my personal humble opinion for what it's worth RSOC covers way too many year groups now to accommodate everyone, it's over a span of 45+ years of cars and different people require different services from the RSOC as the cars travel through their lifecycle. No wonder why the 'club' has become dysfunctional for all of the RS marque as it's too strung out over a very large timeline.
With regards to the RWD Escorts, In my opinion it needs is the Church of AVOOC to count the Mk2's as part of its flock. History has shown us the cars are of the same engineering, spirit, and covering only covering another extra 5 years. Lucky for us with RWD Escorts there is still plenty of aftermarket parts to keep us going. I feel for the people with RS16i's, Escort Turbos', the Cossies and the Fiesta's due to parts are going to be very hard to come by in the next few years and engineering solutions will be required to keep those cars on the road and being enjoyed.
I speak as someone who was a sedentary club member eg go to visit the local Essex show and the ND (and and park with the normal cars) and that was about it.... But I enjoyed being part of one of the best car clubs around.
From the ramblings of an idiotSteve
