There was nothing wrong with the "Old Committee" Everyone was passionate about the club & only wanted for it to succeed & grow. I hate all this crap about how "Bad" the "Old Committee" were as it is unfounded as you weren't there!!!
Nowadays, the "New" committee seem to be able to do as they like with very little input into their actual roles.
Duncan - What has he done????????
Clayton - What has he done????????
You - What have you done???????
Jerry - Oh dear!!!!!!!
Committee meetings now are over a weekend instead of a single day which is costing members more of "Their" membership fees in Hotel bills, food etc.
I can honestly say that I am not happy at what I see going on now

what did the old committee do Kev ????????
we have only 3 committee meetings per year , less than ever before Kev
We " the new committee " have done a lot to repair the damage done by the old committee who basicly have done nothing for years
Time will tell Kev
Just reading this thread from start to finish its had over 14'000 views in just over 8 weeks which is some going for this site
Just 2 quote above which makes me chuckle
Wonder why it went went all t i ts up with a lot of guys with passion for the club or may be too much!!
I think the club needs to get ND back on track not many months left to sort it.
DE the man in my view he pulled it off last year after Giz had to move on and made a good job of what I understand as i did not make the show was on my Hols.
Looking forward to the RS 1800's on tour this year
I've read a lot of comments on here and in the RS Owners Club forum as my Membership has just lapsed.
I was determined that I was going to renew for another 3 years even though I don't have an RS now but the last few weeks has made me realise I really don't want to get frustrated with all the internal wranglings within the Club.
My £75 won't make or break the Club but if there are a lot more long term Members with the same feelings as me then it could be a worrying future.
Seems to me unless you drive a new focus rs , then you come from the dark ages and to some the club has been in there far too Long and they think its time to embrace a bright new future 🌚, they even want to change the club logo 😥and forget about 40 years of the past , gets me angry sometimes.
Think that there have been ramblings in the committee all the time (in every club-committee). In the old days you would read weeks or months later in the clubmag that Mr. soandso resigned from the committee for personal reasons.
Nowadays with internet we can all read a resignation even before the chariman has time to come home from work and read his email.
Communications and a protocol how and when to communicate is essential in my view .

Looks like I was right All the above have since resigned apart from Jerry. BUT for how long..............

kev do mean how long before jerry resigns or how long before those that have resigned try to go back ??
i'd like to see something written into the constitution that prevents any member from attempting to rejoin the committee if they have resigned part way through a year for a period of 12 months.
the exceptions to that i guess this year would steve minshy and dave easton as they were forced out and in daves case i'd assume it was done on the forum or by conference call and not in a minuted committee meeting.

I don't think it will be long before he does.
I have hated every single second of this farce. Has put the club in a very bad light.
I agree, if you voluntary leave your position then there should be no going back, end of. Too many have yo yo'd in the past which I do not agree with.
The case of Steve Minshull & Dave Easton is different as they were both forced out unfairly. The door should remain open to these two "If" they would consider a return. I can't though, see either of them even entertaining going back whilst Jerry is still the chairman.

This is purely my thoughts & opinion by the way.
Steve minshull resigned before the last AGM
He then forced his way back onto the committee which most agree was a sham ,
He then had a vote of no confidence against him by every member of the committee ( bar one who abstained ) , He was not forced out unfairly , it was his own outbusts of abuse to 5 members of the committe and more so his admitance to the whole committee that he didnt want his role anyway
Dave Easton , again was not thrown out , He made some mistakes that he admitted , niw i feel he will say his bit at the AGM to clear his name , then and only then can the members decide if he was treated unfair
Please state facts Kev not what you would like others to believe
I am so looking forward to the AGM , as i feel some truth will be told ( i hope )
So dont bend what you say by saying Steve should be allowed back as he had previously resigned
So has Dave easton
so if you agree with no committee members who have previously resigned coming back , then neither of them can
,,I wonder if minds will be suddenly changed now , lol
There has been a lot of good servants to the RS Owners Club over the past 30 years as Committee Members, Registrars and Moderators.
Unfortunately the roles are now poisoned chalices with every Committee member either being "damned if they do, damned if they don't". By this I mean you make decisions that some are 100% behind you and the rest are 100% against you. It's not like a Limited Business that looks at productivity, profitability and growth, it's a Car Club with Members who all want out if it and their Membership fee exactly what suits them.
The Internet and Forums has just speeded up the Revolution whilst evolution is constantly changing course as there is no set Business Plan that is agreed at the beginning of the financial year. We seem to bumble along from one event (call it error, disaster, show, confrontation or whatever else) to the the next.
Maybe a complete clear out and a fresh newly voted on Committee would help, but in 6 months time would we be back to square one?? Personally I have seen some great things recently :
Regalia for sale with new items that are of interest to the Members (garage mats are one excellent example)
Indoor Show (Both NEC Shows seem to have attracted lots of positive comments and attracted new Members on the day)
Rallye News : the last year has seen some better articles rather than being filled with adverts
National Day : I didn't attend in 2014 due to being on holiday but again this seems to have been a great show with money made for the Club. A Win-Win as Members enjoy the Show and profit is made
The AGM needs to be well planned with an Agenda that will give plenty of time to resolve the current issues so that everyone knows exactly what is expected of the Committee and when it will be done.
For all Members who are concerned then I suggest you attend with your questions emailed in beforehand so that the Top Table can have answers ready on the day rather than trying to bluff their way through it.
