How do you make a complaint about a main dealer ,, had a fault code come up on my car and so far they have fit £800 worth of sensors to the car and still not cured it
Took it back after another breakedown and now they say the problem has been a split in the turbo pipe and was not the sensors but want another £200 to replace the pipe ,,

I think they just guess and keep fitting part in a hope to cure it

Is your vehicle covered by a new car warranty or used?

Thats the way new cars have gone sadly, car quality peaked in the mid to late 90's since then they have put so much crap on cars its killing them early as they can't identify faults correctly. A recent study confirmed that cars today don't last as long as cars used to, you'd be lucky to get 10 years out of a new car today just look at the amount of 04/05 plate (and newer) cars in the scrap yards. Its time to go back to basics.

                Alan,

don't know how it's over there, but if you ask the dealer to fix the car then he should do that. If after 800 quid worth of hardware the car still isn't okay they should refit the old (good) parts and charge you nothing or maybe only labour.

Today's breed of car mechanics Alan, trained to be parts fitters not able to take things apart and fix them, designers don't help with all the electronic crap.

Don't just accept it, I would write to the boss of the company explaining that you are totally dissatisfied after spending £800 on fixing your car which has not rectified the problem and they are now asking for a further £200 to fix it! By taking your Ford to a Ford garage you believed your car would be repaired by Ford trained staff and the problem dealt with in a most efficient manner. Fitting parts which were not required and then charging for them is clearly unacceptable and not in the interest to their customers! I would suggest you ask them to remove all unnessesary parts which they fitted (they can leave them on if they want at no charge to you), then replace back your original parts and then ammend your bill to suit!

Failing that, then I suggest it's a letter to Ford themselves!

                      Good Luck!

                      Tim

ask to see the service manager, if that gets no results ask to see the dealer principle and next step after that is Ford customer car

How's this then?? I took my RS Mexico for it's MOT and an oil change as I didn't have the time to do it. I had a phone call later in the day saying they couldn't find where to link up the car to the computer to reset the fault codes!!!!!! YE GODS!!! A few choice words were exchanged and advised them not to touch the car just do the MOT!!! (She passed OK!!) This, by the way, was a local garage, not a Ford main dealer, but a garage I had used for many years but had changed hands in the last 12 months.

They should have known about split boost pipes, it's a very common fault on Ford diesels!
