      I would never take a vehicle to main dealer or advise anyone to unless you know the mechanics that work there. Like John says there all just fitters and guessers! They plug the diagnostic machine in get a fault code and assume it needs a new part by guessing. It really annoys me as it gives the trade a bad name.
      There arnt enough experianced technicians with diagnosic skills any more as cars are getting more and more complex and they cant be arsed lerning or just dont want to or last but not least cant!!

      Ha sorry for a rant but i here it on a dailey basis. The amount of customers that come through the door with a fault and when i fix their car the first thing they say it "oh brilliant, its bin in the dealers loads of times for this fault"

        Too true Dale, I had problems with an Astra and the main dealer couldn't fix it after 2 goes and one of the lads at Furness Park sussed it in less than an hour and said it was a common fault with Vauxhalls.
        Gone to the Dark Side but still lurking!
