  • Stolen Twin Cam

    STOLEN Saturday June 14:
MkI Ford Escort Twin Cam (Registered Sept 1970)
    Registration: YUA 234J.
Colour: White (no decals on car)
Stolen between 15:30-15:53 on Saturday 14th June 2014 from the car park of the Dog Inn, Harvington near Kidderminster, while the owner popped into the pub.
A witness saw a white male near the vehicle in the car park at approx 15:40. He was wearing a green hoody with the hood up and a pair of sunglasses.
The car was driven away without the use of keys and was possibly sighted driving towards Worcester soon after the theft.
This is a rare and valuable car, only 1200 were built until production ceased in 1970 - it is distinctive and insured for £75,000.
YUA 234J is all white with no stripes, no additional stickers and no extra fittings. It is completely original other than Minilite style wheels.
If you know anything please contact West Mercia Police on:
101 or 0300 3333 000. Please quote Crime Number 22DB/37446B/14 or the registration number: YUA 234J.

I know that pub and area very well. You certainly wouldn't expect to see your pride and joy disappear from a quiet country pub.

Defiantly an opportunist, or maybe the car was followed, but either way sickening

Broke up for bits it will soon vanish. ,, Nothing was ever heard of the RS1800 that was stolen not so long ago.

The sad part is that some people will buy bits with out question

Can't believe the owner didn't take precautions against theft!! Even the slightest deterrent may make a would be thief walk on. I have alarm / immobiliser , chain through steering wheel and seat . Plus other stuff, and that's in the garage.
Feel sorry for the guy but just because it was a quiet pub isn't an excuse not to protect something so rare and valuable..
Hope he gets it back , but doubt it..

it is hateful that if you have a nice car like that twin cam and don't drive it its called a trailer queen and when you do drive it to get some enjoyment out of it you cant leave it any length of time before some clampit messes with it.
Hopefully car will come back in one piece

a quiet pub thats only a few miles from whare there are around 20 escorts parked on a trailer park, notoriuos area i would say, that car will be in the area for sure opportunists would not be on the dog at harvington and get it away so quick, hoodie and glasses to hand, its not that type of area, i dont liv far away from it, that car was followed and still not far away, surely there must be some cctv in and around the area

I know I'll get insulted for this but I would much rather have the £75k in the bank than an Escort in the garage.

Don't know why people get so aggrieved about cars getting stolen, that's what you pay insurance for and with agreed value done by one of the clubs who over egg the value you will come out on top.

With £75k you can go and spend £30k on a nice Escort and bank £45k ....simples

There are far far worse things can happen to you in this life than having a piece of metal stolen.

                          As for the RS1800 .......

                          I'll get me coat

some people have had their cars for a long time son, unfortunately you do get attatched to the piece of metal (I await the edit). its easier to sell up if you get bored or you see other projects that float your boat, wish I could move on its not healthy
!800s demand for whatever reason is there, they sell for good £s, again for whatever reason. value, I think I value them according to what has sold and adjust accordingly with whats right or wrong. I have recently seen a slight change in the buyers, new owners seem to be the ones that are using the cars, whereas a couple years ago it seemed to be a collectors car.

It cant be nice to have something stolen from you, feel for the owner of the twincam
