Its easy to identify a proper stage rally car because of its MSA logbook. The car has to pass an inspection regarding specification & safety to get it.
Road rally cars often don't have an MSA log book.
I never see this kind of thing as a problem many people competing in motorsport are also in the car/garage business.
You just find somewhere to MOT the car that is used to competition vehicles...even if it means driving a few more miles.
Go & watch any local rally & the cars will covered in advertising & contact phone numbers..usually 'Bloggs tyres & MOT' 'Smiths Garage' etc
