Halon extinguishers were banned in 2003 except for specific uses. This does not include their use in cars. It is now illegal not only to own one but to discharge contents into the atmosphere.

i fitted one of these in the boot (well away from the engine bay), so at least it would isolate the main supply for a while ............ good anti theft thing also

I had my held he'd extinguisher fail to go off when really needed so proper maintenance and testing is needed whatever one you get

Indeed, but who is to know its halon, and while now "banned" are still permitted for use in light aircraft. Depends how much you value your car......

i have a Halon handheld in my sierra if it goes up in flames and i use it they can take me to court as the fine is worth paying to save the car

I supplied Glyn with the 360 extinguisher.

Call me @ work in Tuesday and I'll talk you through the choices.

I deal directly with a lifeline agent who charges up the extinguishers as they are ordered, so you get maximum life from them.

They service them too.
