  • Sick of ermine white!!

    Gents,

    I need some advice,
Having just finished the bodyshell work on my early twincam, I'm looking at getting it painted BUT:-

I am getting sick of ermine white and wondered if you could suggest a period colour that would not detract from the value of the car and still look in keeping ?

    Cheers. Steve

In my opinion, it's difficult to come up with a better colour for a twincam. I've always associated white with their rally car history, can't beat it somehow.

It's good to be different. No one has a monza blue twin cam. I think there was only 13 RS1600 made in this colour.

Yes, I think it would be good to be different for a change. The Monza is a very nice colour, the blue mink one of Kerry's looks the biz as well. What do you think of being totally radical and going with copper bronze ??
Will the different colours detract from the value though???

Copper bronze is an Exellent colour as we'll. You only live once if you going to keep the the car and drive it and enjoy it paint the colour of your choice. If your going to stand and look at it in your garage and then sell it then ermine white is the colour.

          Cheers D.

Sadly, it will be back to ermine then as I know it will never get the use to justify the colour change!

What about some stripe options to take away the plainness of the white??

Dave,a mate of mine has these on his mk2cortina and it looks good.

Someone was selling these at Stanford hall about 4 years ago really cheap but ain't seen them since.
Easy enough to replicate I would think.

What would the duo tone blue on the 1800 look like on a mk 1??
