IMHO, crap idea why would you put a tow bar on a mk1 escort? In saying that though lamberttas can play up from time to time (we had an overnight scooter run last weekend and 1 Vespa 1 lambertta were stuck on the back of utes for the journey home) so maybe it's not such a bad idea

In June we went down to Plymouth to catch the ferry. En route we passed a few groups of Lambretta's. Every one had a 'backup van' following at the tail of the convoy.Originally posted by Moose View PostIMHO, crap idea why would you put a tow bar on a mk1 escort? When we got on the ferry they were telling us how they never go anywhere with out one or more of them having some kind of mechanical disaster! To start with we laughed 'at them' but by the time we docked we wished we'd been going with them. They had great camaraderie and breaking down was all part of there trip......now where can i buy one from! Please please please can I be in the 'Clique'

i was one of the back up vans last weekend ;-) if you seriously want one either get in contact with a local club as they might point you in the right direction, or if you want a lammy try the lambretta club of great britain. BUT be warned blingy and perfect paint work might mean an Asian import with parts of pepsi cans used for shims these bikes are death traps and must be avoided taken off the road and crushed. Take a guy in the know if your knowledge is limited to all things 2 stroke Vespas and lamberttas. ;-)Originally posted by FLATCAP40 View PostIn June we went down to Plymouth to catch the ferry. In the late 60's I had a 66 Lambretta J125, must have been quite a new model then, looked a bit more modern than the others, but did not appear to be that popular! Apart from a dicky starter gear, it was 100% reliable. It was just about quick enough to dodge the rockers that threw apples at me and tried to push me off all the flaming time!
It got me up to the age of 17 when I bought my first car a Hillman Imp to do up!
