    Now your talking sense Ade (keep 5k in the bank though, everything is a 5k job on a Porsche. Just something my mate told me who has and has had several!!)

    Pop into Ninemiester in Warrington. The'yll set you straight. But it's got to be a 2S for me. 993 or 6, proper car.

      that is lovely gaz, i'd have that over any mk1 or mk2

      i went to a bloke who owns the only right hand drive in green 911 rs, it was stunning and he was a top bloke who rallies a mk2 with a millington and also owns an rs1600.

          Cheers Chaps , mine's a tatty old one really but it still looks the nuts and drives good . Very basic and simple cars so apart from rust (no change if you like Escorts , lol) they are fine .
          An outlaw car (old one with later running gear) is the way to go for a toy because the first shape is the best looking and most desirable (same as Escorts , lol) but as their early engines are crappy slow things sticking newer 3.0 to 3.6 litre injected motors in them is the way forward .
          If you've got wives who need too drive them then get a 1990's one as they have gay autos , air con and all the shite they like in a car , lol . Real men drive 1970's models with no power steering , no power brakes , no traction control , no ABS , and no fear . Oh yes .

            I hear colin has one or two for sale in there presently, if you need engine advice also a good mate of mine is ninemeisters engine man, mark rayner...

            I took Parajon in there when i picked up the white mexico, took ages to get him back out

                      My brother has a 996 turbo S and this absolutely beautiful 4 speed turbo.
                      We had a ride out yesterday and I have to say that I was staggered by its performance!!...It has proper make you giggle acceleration and seeing the best part of three figures in 2nd gear left me wondering what impact this car must of made in 1978.
                      Ive got to get me one of these!

                          So..The Focus didn't happen for me..I then started to look at 911's and specifically the watercooled 996 models..I looked at a few and did some research,but sadly the engines are made from chocolate and suffer severe engine trouble.
                          The only exceptions in the 996 range is the gt3 and 996 turbo which basically are a totally different engine which is based on the 1998 le mans engine and has its ancestry in the early 911 turbo.
                          So this is what I bought for a weekend toy.
                          Its a 2004 996 turbo.It has 420 bhp and is good for the best part of 200 mph and has a 0-60 of less than 4 seconds.
                          I can honestly say I have never driven anything like it.
