I think you can only get out what you put in..I did my first lakes tour last year..I didnt know anybody by face..you just have to get on with it and get yourself involved..You can't always like everybody and if you don't then don't bother with 'em...There are enough great people that i have met since returning to Escorts to make it worthwhile..For what its worth i am not a big fan of static shows,TBH i personally find them a bit boring..The lakes has everything i want..Its got all the cars i am interested in..Its got drinking and overnight camping which is always a good combination..but best of all the cars get driven..and at the end of the day thats what its all about for me.

When this site first started it was indeed like that. There were many people on here that gave FREE parts & other stuff away. I had a free spit amongst other things. I also gave stuff away (still do) I also got all my ratchet straps for free from here. So, I am correct.

There is and never has been a "gang" it was about a group of enthusiasts who liked the RS marque of Escort.

There seem to be a lot of bitter people around now who just don't seem to get it. If someone dares to criticise another's car then dummies are thrown etc. my old car YUE was subjected to snide comments when I showed it in concours. It was always the newer people who made these comments!! I remember standing near the car with Spence at one show (Croft iirc) listening to some know-all picking faults. We just joined in but really bitched about the car as they didn't know it was mine!!!!!!!!
It's the same in all clubs & groups. There will always be people who will criticise your work no matter how good it is. Get over it!!!!!
