So you are telling him to commit fraud ?

if you get caught telling your credit card company that a transaction was " unautherised " when it clearly was then your in deep shit

        Hi Martin,

I think most people know who it is as well as there is only one person selling all up at the moment and he is using another name to sell under now. Think he is keeping the rs shell tho.

Just PM Dave, rather than all us us putting our two pence worth in when we don't know the full facts.
If as its been claimed the person is using another persons account that's a ban from this site.

Just hope this gets resolved for you

              Hi All,

The two different account he is using are on ebay so nothing to do with this website.

I have looked into this a little further to ensure where possible that this site continues to be safe to use for all.

The "seller" concerned is a registered user on here but has not been on the site since the 21st Sept 2012 and has no adverts offered on this site.

All the sellers "trading" it appears has taken place on or via Ebay.

The "seller" has not got as far as I can tell 2 usernames on here but may well have access to 2 usernames on Ebay.

I believe Errols post was to highlight the dangers of paying for goods via the Paypal Gift method.

Thread reopened but will be monitored

you dont have to commit fraud just say it was broke not as described and you will still get money back as long as you use credit card and not debit card when you pay by paypal. In my sons case they said it wasnt authorised so thats why i give example but its your money and your choice its not my advice its just a option you can take

                      My 2 cents:

paying via PayPal only covers the buyer when you buy something on a PayPal approved website (like ebay), at least that is on the PP-site overhere.
I've been paying for parts and stuff via PP-as-a-gift for some time now to people who I think I can trust, with no issues whatsoever. Also I ask buyers to pay me via PP-as-a-gift (no reason to make the PP people richer as they already are) with no problem also.

The buyer has to pay the fee in that case though don't they?

as far i as i can make out if you use a debit card as default on pay pal there is no fee but if you use credit card there is a fee thats how it works with mine any way

I think i have heard that somewhere else also. When i set up my paypal account i intentionally nominated a credit card instead of a debit card to give a second line of defence for in case something when tits up.

                              Update

                              Hi All,

Good News is that this has been sorted and I have got my money back.

So a big thanks to all that have sent advise and also sent me messages too. I have learned my lesson from this and from now on I will not use the paypal gift option as it gives the buyer no cover at all.

I hope this is a lesson that we can all learn from and maybe it will save somebody else having a problem like this in the future.

Great result Errol, its a shame when one bad deal can make you change the way you deal with others, personally sometimes I find I have to buy things via the gift option because the seller will only deal that way. When they have the bit you want, and they know it, its like a carrot being dangled in front of you, so do you do it or not ? most people do it because they want the part.

If you want it, get it, before someone else beats you to it.
