  • Motor trade gone mad

When i went to college to learn panel beating (1999-2001) i left with an NVQ level 3 which was the lifetime quaification, but now the motor industry has decided that it only lasts 3 years?!
So now i have to spend two days(monday/tuesday this week) at Training 2000 in blackburn to take the ATA senior panel course.WTF!
And this only last three years, and it cost the buisness £1500 to boot

Unfortunatley training is what its all about have yu done the pas125t test yet?

we supply equipment to all the major Audi/Porche/Bmw/GM/and several others we can only supply if they have passed the tests

Where theres blame theres a claim this is to cover their backsides!!!

                      What a load of B0ll0x!

I finished my City & Guilds & RTITB in 1986 and I have NEVER been asked to show or prove this qualification in all these years.

I have learnt more in experience over the last 29 years to the point that the qualification means absolute sh1t!

The crap your having to deal with is driven by the insurance companies & bureaucracy! I would hate to be at the training end of the ladder in this day and age

Well thats the thing, since i left school in '99 i've had only two jobs ans since i've been qualified '01 i've been doing the biggest jobs that come into the garage and stand in for the foreman when he's off, passed my welding tests easily every two years! So really what is the point of an other qualification that i don't need

Seeing as you a brickie I would hope you have done hundreds of thousands of courses in 5 years

But not too many courses in a day as the compo has to have time to set !
