Production figures are as reliable as the chart from which they are provided. If they are 'not worth the paper they are printed on ....' then we lose all faith.

The figures I usually quote came from an impeccable source at Ford-UK HQ a few years ago. Does this mean that this source could not be trusted then ?

Graham, I can only use the facts in front of me to prove my point.

The production figures below are from "Ford Records" & yes I do believe they were provided by your good self.

I'm not going through the whole lot but here are just two months for comparrison.

    Ford say
    March 1968, 1 Twincam built.
    October 1968, 13 Twincams built.

    The facts.

Cars built in March 1968 I have details for 6 Twincams that actually exist. The gaps in the run of chassis numbers would suggest at least 12 cars were built in that month. There is also a photo in existence of those first cars built & there are more than 12 cars in the picture.

Cars built in October 1968 I have details for 45 Twincams that actually exist. The gaps in the chassis numbers suggest well over 100 cars were built in that month.

So you understand my cynicism concerning the figures supplied.

Just to add to the above.

Ford figures say they built 14 Escort Twincams for Export.

My facts show details for 37 cars exported when new.
