  • Demon Tweeks

Not wanting to cause a stir here but whats your dealings with Demon Tweeks as I'm pretty peed off with them and am thinking they are taking the **** cos I'm an overseas buyer?

Reason for asking is I recently made a purchase with them (terratrip retro rally computer) but upon arrival in OZ they had sent the wrong item (completly their fault as from day one I specifically requested the retro rally item). I made contact with them and they told me to send it back as cheaply as possible (cheaply as possible means what?) I did point out that cheaply as possible would mean the slow boat to China and god knows how long it would take, at the same time I asked them when they would send out the right item. They told me when the wrong item arrives back at their place, alternatively I could pay for a 2nd item and they would send pronto (then refund me when the wrong item arrived back at demon tweeks) . I told them no way would I pay for a 2nd item if I am sending the wrong one back as cheaply as possible (especially when it wasn't me that screwed up). I promptly advised them that I would post the goods back registered mail as we then guarantee delivery (I also sent them photos as proof of posting). At the same time they had an offer on throwing in a free navigators bag with every purchase of a rally computer but this too did not arrive. I also pointed this out and was advised it would be sent when the Retro computer was sent.

Anyway correct item arrived yesterday with no navigators bag so I made contact with them and reminded them of the following (also included ALL correspondence so they can see it for themselves)
1 Wrong item was initially sent through no fault of my own
2 I am out of pocket as I had to pay for the return shipment
3 Nav bag was not sent even though I was told it would be (this actually does not bother me that much but given the poor service I'm demanding a reason why on principal)
4 I asked for shipping details for tracking purposes and even though it was promised it was never supplied (again not a big thing but I have been stung before so if I have tracking details I can at least track it)

Cheeky so and so's (public forum here so words shall remain clean) told me and I quote "YOU (yes it was spelt in capital letters) requested the wrong item and we only posted the replacement out in good faith"

I am flabbergasted at their response and I do believe they don't give a poo, If I still lived in the uk I would drive to their premises and throw the tripmaster through their bloody front window.

Anyway rant over (now it's off my chest I might calm down)

BTW if the administrator withdraws this as I'm making an accusation I do understand but I'm posting to protect others. I'm more than happy to email all correspodence upon request as proof of the above.

always a good service here - maybe its just a one off for you

just ask to take it to a higher level ..............

sometimes the "bigger fish" can leave you feeling a little annoyed with attitudes towards sales which always leaves me feeling as the customer is in the wrong !!!!!! ................

sure some others will be along soon for some good advice

How did you pay for the item?, if with a credit card, get them involved, and get some assistance.

          demon tweeks

I order alot of gear from those guys, but one order I had the "stack" oil temp gauge had a rattle inside it ,I noticed this before I broke the security seal on the dame thing,When I informed Demon Tweeks insisted that it was my fault.
I had a bit of trouble making them to replace it with a new one, Didn`t refund me the p+p and the chap on the phone was rude!!
so always check your goods before opening them and take pics if need be.

only bought a couple of items from them, but they got them out really quickly and exactly what i ordered, so no complaints, also have a decent website which is more than some of the other suppliers of escorts bits and bobs

i guess there's always gonna be some happy customers and some less happy

They recently tried to fleece me on a set of seats, gave me a quote for a set that were not in stock so the price was fairly RRP, asked me for a deposit but I said I,d wait, called me up to tell me they were in stock, great I thought I,ll get them, as I was in work I said I,d call them when I got home, good job I did, surfing their site that afternoon i found they were selling them at a £140 YES £140 discount per seat, so I would have been £280 down, called them up and got a real dick on the phone trying to justify themselves, I went to JJC instead and got free next day delivery with a £300 discount, so mouse your not alone

Thanks for the heads up OP and others.. I was about to order a strutbrace from them for my other car as I couldn't find a decently priced one apart from them (BMW Z3 3.0). I guess I'll look elsewhere, even if it costs more.

I think you'll find JJC and Demon Theives are the same company.

Both registered at the same address, and both supply the same products. I think maybe DT are aware of their reputation and have done something different to get the rallying community back on board.

I too have had problems with them in the past, also with stack products and ended up out of pocket on the postage when returning the item, So now I just look in their catalogue to find what I want & then find a better deal elsewhere

I'd probably take a few days to take a step back and think about my response in a calm manner. I'm not suggesting you're not calm , just give yourself time to think clearly without being annoyed with what's happened already.

Then type a letter (or e-mail) stating all the facts (along with copies of your previous correspondence) then send it to the Managing Director (with a copy to customer service).

Put in your response what you would like them to do to satisfy your bad experience with their company, especially as they try to sell themselves as an international quality company.

Do Demon Tweeks still put all the staff pictures and names in the front of their catalogue?

Failing that, take a holiday over here (bring the sunshine with you!) and chuck it through their front window!!

I bought a 6 point Willans harness from them a few years ago.
                          It came undone mid accident.
                          They referred me to Willans
The MD of Willans personally told me to '***** off'
Demon Tweeks politely did the same in the form of a letter.

I've never used either company since, and would recommend that others do not use them either.
                          Cheers Rob.
