  • break in ..........

had a call at 23.15 last night from the landlord who'd just discovered our unit at work, his barn and another lorry had all been entered - lucky for us nothing had been taken tool wise but they had gone thru all the draws and cupboards probably looking for cash [nothing ever left on premises] ................. managed to secure unit [but only temporarily] and bring home a load of hand tools, drills, cutters, polishing stuff ......................... back to home at 01.00am for a restless night

cops had been called at 23.10 by the lorry owners and had still not arrived by the time i left at 00.20

    grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

there's a 4 drawer filing cabinet there which is a bugger to get open at the best of times ............... reckon 'hong kong phooey' would struggle too .............. that had been opened and gone thru, and the quality street tin of gold leaf stuff had been opened but nothing taken .......... its pretty useless for someone unless they are regilding a headstone i guess

Same with the police when our house was burgled on new years eve. I was at my house an hour before them , and i was told i had been broken into an hour before that
To be fair , it was new years day !
Sorry to hear about it mate, i didn't sleep well for a few nights. Also, we were finding things missing for days after we hadn't noticed gone and it's been a right pain in the arse getting it all sorted, just starting to get money from insurance through now !
Reckon with high unemployment etc , it's only going to get worse!

This is awful, a few friends have been done in the last few years, one of my worst fears finding someone in the house. I watched a tv show last week saying a lot of burglaries are carried out by only a few people, and they are hard to convict so they continue to rob. Maybe the government should subsidise CCTV like they have with solar panels, with undesputeable evidence the shits go to jail and everyone can sleep easier......
            In theory ?

              Break in

If you tell the Police that you think the robbers are still in the premises they will be out quicker

Grrrr the b******s wouldn't walk out of my house if they got in and I caught them, they would feel the weight of a baseball bat (I have one upstairs by the bed and another one downstairs just in case) and sting of pepper spray.
I would be pretty peed off too if the cops locked me up as every man should have the right to protect his family and property.

True, about 4 years ago I was out of country and the buggers forced the garage door while the wife was in the house on her own, once the alarm sounded she called the cops pronto and they were round asap with lights/sirens blaring and batons drawn, luckily the garage is alarmed so the burglars shot off without stealing anything but it shook the wife up something rotten.
Hence my previous rant about bats and pepper spray, was also told by a south african colleague to leave a bottle of whiskey lying around laced with weed killer but chose not to take this advise as the consequences are not worth thinking about.

they came in from the back of the farm over the fields - Bernard found a barb wire fence had been cut this morning

made some stronger alterations to the door this afternoon and are putting up security lights at the weekend along with audio alarms on the door ............... try to make it visually secure rather than fort knox, cos they'll only cause more damage if they can't get their way

                            cheers for the ideas tho
