anybody care or want to comment on the uk veto ?

personally think its doomed anyway - loads of little countries wanna join but will end up like greece etc

bet we still end up paying loads into it

liked an expression used on the bbc website - .............. "It's like having an 18 wheel truck with a couple of ferrari engines on one side and some 19th century cartwheels on the other. Sooner or later it's going to go off the road and nothing is going to stop it"

Now we are not welcome at the EU table lets finally return the UK to Great Britain - continue helping those in need but remove all spongers and wasters

All uk paid tax remain in uk

          Remove us from EU

If someone wants to buy from us they pay in pounds sterling

We Buy from UK first then look worldwide for goods if not available in UK

Immigrants welcome but must be self sufficient or go away

This country can only get worse if it continues as it is so it needs to change to get better

Well, to be honest, I think the idea was alright but he was set up and now the UK looks very much like the "bad looser".

I personally think it was the right thing to do, I mean, why should the UK let Brussels and the ECb second guess the UK budget and spending when it's not even in the euro zone?

The trouble is of course, the signs where there for all to see but Sarko and Merkel kept the lid on it well and seem to have "bought off" the other EU countries, but at what cost?

I wonder how countries like Sweden, Hungary, the Czech Republic will actually appreciate it when the French and Germans start dictating to them what they are allowed to spend and tell them what at which rates to levy taxation?

No, France and Germany look good today but unless there's a miracle around the corner, national governments around Europe will not like having their entire fiscal policy dictated to them by unelected European technocrats.

Today though, Dave allowed himself to be severly outmanoeuvred and has taken the UK to the brink of the UK being "throwing out".

A withdrawl of the UK is not a good idea, not with the trade links with Europe and the UK certainly shouldn't be looking to catch on to the coat tails of the USA, their going down faster than the EU and the US certainly doesn't value the UK highly enough to form some sort of trade agreement with the UK.

It's not the EU that has been the UK's downfall, it has been the UK govt's, like allowing all and sundry to take over British companies. The Germans and French (in fact nearly all others) veto, or make it very hard for foreigners to just buy up these companies; see Cadbury's.

Removing the UK from the EU, will be catastrophic for trade, movement of goods and services and people working in the EU, to name but a few examples.

I remember the seventies, wasn't their a slogan, buy british. I can't remember a 70's car from BL that I would have wanted, need I say more...

Britain are slaves in modern terminology to every other country in the world.

Most of our big companies are owned by US German French or Japanese. Look at how football clubs are being bought up by foreign investors to name just one.

Gone are the days when we could say our industries were truly British. Coal, steel, even textiles all gone.

To compete today we need to be 'competitive', something we struggle as a nation to do.

Don't get me going with the bankers.
