Ford NEVER, EVER produced anything from the Factory with series X options on it - FACT
anything with series X was either fitted by the 'PR' bodyshop in Middlesex, was retro dealer fitted, or if a competition car, fitted by the car preperation company or a Satelite 'Specialist'
hope this helps

Sure I know this right well! This fool I'm talking to is a different story...
Also, were the box type arches available as a Series X option for flatfronts? I thought they were actually Zakspeed arches that people called X-pack
now if Ford went "factory fitting" it wouldnt really offer the flexibility that Ford were trying to give the consumer would it
Simplest way of putting it i think
Ah Jeeeeeesus lads you're missing the point! I want to know was there ever any box arched Series X RS1800 road cars? I know Series X didn't come from the factory, I was just saying what this buck said.

my reply wasnt aimed at you fella
but in reply to your question about the box arches being "zakspeed" ...... they are actually listed on page 50 of the series x brochure under the heading "escort II - rs2000 - tarmac NB not group 1 or 2"
continuing with the text ..... "zakspeed type arches - ideal for tarmac rally cars"
there is no mention of the flat front fitting ones on that page, but it does imply that they were indeed a series x part.
actually scratch that, just found the exact kit on page 49 under the heading "Escort II - Tarmac"
"The ultra successful Zakspeed team gave birth to these extensions" (sounds painful ) "They are ideal for racers, tarmac rally cars or road use. Not group 1 or 2.
The part number/finis code for the complete kit was 905 3000

you need to be specific before the spammers get to the thread.
"want to know was there ever any box arched Series X RS1800 road cars"
From the Factory, NO, never
"want to know was there ever any box arched Series X RS1800 road cars"
Possibly, but they would have had the Series x kits fitted by dealers, competition teams, or D.I.Y. Maybe Robbo can confirm if he knows of any RS1800 ROAD CARS fitted with box arched series X
