east anglia is the driest part of the country. Found a little extract from wikipedia ... " Suffolk and Norfolk - are amongst the driest in the UK, with an average annual rainfall of around 600 millimetres (23.6 in). In some years rainfall totals in Essex and South Suffolk can be below 450 millimetres (17.7 in) (especially areas around Colchester, Clacton and Ipswich) - less than the average annual rainfall in Jerusalem, Beirut and even some semi-arid parts of the world."

the driest point in britain is St Osyth which is about 30 mins from me. I must admit we are very lucky with the weather!

it also seems to be fairly immune from things such as drops in house prices etc
I found a page online a few weeks back showing the average change in property value over the last couple of years, and there was barely any change in my area, we seem to tick along quite happily whilst the rest of the country goes to tits

            my car in the vBGarage

I would say Eastlands,Etihad , city's stadium. It's great for work (only a mile or so from my shop), rain and gale free (if your not near the front) and great for kids (get to see great footy and cheap to get in )

Worst must be old trafford, to far from work and out of manchester, weathers that bad there the called it "The swamp", and they've just weathered a right storm . All the kids who go seem to be unhappy this week

Dublin on emergency footing as floods cause chaos

Dundrum shopping mall in Dublin was awash with flood water
Dublin City Council has activated its major emergency plan as a result of widespread flooding in the city.
Sustained rainfall led to major roads, houses and one of the city's main shopping centres going under water.
An off-duty Irish police officer is missing in County Wicklow, close to where a river broke its banks.
Public transport was severely disrupted and in one part of the city an inflatable boat has been used to rescue stranded motorists.
There were three-hour delays on some major routes out of the city, and the Dublin Dart train service has been suspended.
The heavy rain also hit travellers along the east coast of Ireland with the Belfast-to Dublin Enterprise service being cancelled.
Two rivers which run into Dublin, the Dodder and the Camac, have overflowed.
Authorities said further problems could be caused by an unusually high tide which was expected on Monday night.
The Irish weather service, Met Eireann, has issued a severe weather warning for large areas of Ulster and east Leinster.

Went yesterday morning to see what sort of damage was done to my store. managed to salvage some new PVC & velux windows and lots of radiators but lots of kitchen flat packs & doors etc knackered. good time to do a clean out.
Small loss compared to cottages across the road.

A good customer of mine built 4 new houses last year and they got destroyed. (see the pics below) Water raised to 700mm inside. We did all the 2nd fixings in the houses so have to gut them downstairs & start all over again.
