just bought a gallon of it,going to do oil change first time a went to a escort meet the smell was everywhere in the air

I'm sure you can't use R40 oil in an engine that has been run on another oil before as if mixed it turns too jelly and clogs everything !!!!
R40 engines must be built from new (all clean inside) too run on it .

have heard that bud but know a bloke how builds engines and he said he,s never had a problem doing that . engine has done less than 500 miles so going to try it ,will flush out engine first though

I may be wrong but Castrol R must not be allowed to sit in an engines sump for any length of time

"Normal" oils obviously stay in engine in between services or oil changes but Castrol R is supposed to be drained after an event, rally etc

Have heard of people who then put "road oil" back in with no problems regarding mixing oil types in sump

Dad puts a drop in the lawn mower so we can smell it every time he cuts the grass
