    Oh dear

A few months ago I put on here a wanted ad' for an early GPz550, I wanted the one of the first ones out , a twin shock model only produced for a short time. Well I have been scouring the internet since and tonight after a pint and a curry for the wifes birthday I nipped onto Ebay and stuck in a winning bid on one of the few that I have came across.

All I have to do is get it paid for (easier said than done) and pick it up, oh and find all the missing parts and restore it.

I pushed my luck having a TR resto thread, will Custom allow a GPz thread

Sure it will be a pain put I have wanted one of these for a very very long time, there will be no rush whatsoever to restore it, I'll be happy to sit and look at it just as it is .

    All the best, Paul

How it looks according to the Ebay ad'

How I want it to look

          Very nice son

Never passed my bike test , but allways liked the old 70's 80's and 90's bikes

I know they are crap but would love one of these if I ever pass my test

IIRC Some of the GPZ range have a major design fault !

Start engine and leave it on the side stand

Oil flows away from the oil pump due to gravity

(oil pump is on opposite side of engine to the side stand)

Leave running long enough on side stand = end of engine
