Start engine and leave it on the side stand

Oil flows away from the oil pump due to gravity

(oil pump is on opposite side of engine to the side stand)

Leave running long enough on side stand = end of engine
That's what the centre stand was for.

Alternatively, you can start the engine and ride the bike down the road.

I agree, my dad had one of the last GPz 750 turbos 112 bhp.
It was the definitive turbo bike (virtually no turbo lag etc). I have never experienced a bike like that before or since.
It picked up nicely, and then between 2,500 and 3,000 rpm if you opened the taps, it was like some huge hand came from behind and threw you forwards.

It was faster than the GPz 1100 at the time, that really is a bike (if you can find one) that would be worthy of restoration. The only thing was the frame was a tubular steel afair and wasn't quite up to the job, it just wasn't rigid enough.
Unlike the Deltabox frames which were about to come in on the Yammies.
