I packed in playing football about 5 years ago after tearing my Anterior Cruciate Ligament. I was told to rest for 6 weeks to see if was any better and all seemed fine running etc. until I tried to kick a football and it snapped. Pure agony it sounded like an elastic band breaking and felt like i'd been shot.

Doctors gave me 2 option... Retire or have a carbon graft sown into the ligament to give it strength

                I went for retirement
                Cheers

I've gotten injured like that when I was a younger gun as well. It's got nothing to do with age, I assure you.
