I packed in playing football about 5 years ago after tearing my Anterior Cruciate Ligament. I was told to rest for 6 weeks to see if was any better and all seemed fine running etc. until I tried to kick a football and it snapped. Pure agony it sounded like an elastic band breaking and felt like i'd been shot.
Doctors gave me 2 option... Retire or have a carbon graft sown into the ligament to give it strength
twas playing football last night, outdoor 5 a side ,5 mins from the end got the ball turned with lightning speed fell to the floor holding the back of me leg, thought i had been clouted but turns out ive torn my calf muscle.
ater 3 hours in casulty watching everybody elses miss fortunes came away on crutches. been playing for years without a problem but its got me thinkin a bit now.hoping plenty of rest is gonna sort it.
will be joining the dayshift for a while
I've gotten injured like that when I was a younger gun as well. It's got nothing to do with age, I assure you.
im 47 and weight train 3 times a week and i can tell you it takes it toll on me, plus the fact im out of bed at 4am most week days and spend 12 hours plus driving a truck, and doin the jobs round the house...
