I'm usually an advocate for 7's, but in this instance the 6's win all day long in my opinion. Look at the pictures - the 6's look perfect. If you do decide to keep the 7's they HAVE to be black/polished - end of story!!
I'm perhaps swaying away from 7's now becuase I think RS's only look good when they're pretty low, and 7's will catch the front wings I've been told when you go reasonably low =(
Measure inner bead of rim to inner bead, this gives you the ideal size...
an 8" MO has just over 8" bead to to bead....would be a 215mm tyre...
The proxies sit over the bead making the 225 the perfect tyre size, would be a 215 on slicks
Would fitting the smaller tyre (195/55) on a 7 inch rim, cause the wall of the tyre give more than on a 6 inch rim, causing the rim to move Lateral within the tyre, basiclly cause a sence of dull turn in (if you get my meaning, being one for the track I sure you have come across that term).
end of the day I have a 3rd option, the problem is me expecting to much, last time I drove a mk2 with any sort of pace was 1990 before I drove FEV last October.
and I could just be throwing my 7's out for my pram for no reason.
