  • Wasps nests.

Anyone any tips for exterminating a nest.
It's outside so I was just going to pump some lead from the shotgun into them, but I'm told unless I kill them all they will just rebuild?
Anyone any experience with some chemical warfare on the striped invaders?

    Gallon of petrol on them
How to get rid of wasps: sting treatment, infestation control, wasp traps, wasp killer, and nest removal.

It's in a shrub bed so there may be some collateral damage.
Has anyone tried petrol in a super soaker water pistol with say a zippo taped to the end??
May be more accurate than a one gallon bouncing bomb.

I had a nest in my shed last week. I just waited till it was nearly dark and got a garden fork, stuck it into the nest and prized it off the wall and ran like f**k to the kitchen and shut the door VERY QUICKLY.
Went have a look the following day and yes they were rebuilding so just got a wasp spray and sprayed it into the remnants and ran like f**k again.
Left it for half an hour then sprayed it again and ran like f**k again. You may be starting to see a pattern emerging here. Another couple of sprays did the trick and now all gone.
Beware though, make sure you have your escape route decided and nothing you can trip over because they really don't like this and will come after you almost straight away. My son watched from the safety of the house and he was in hysterics watching this silly old bu**er running down the garden with a swarm of wasps in hot pursuit.
            If you choose this method
            GOOD LUCK
            Phil.

Interesting? Which spray did you use?
Might have to send the wife out on this one. She's faster and probably more expendable if there's a high risk.

put ant powder down where they are going in,they then carry into the nest and it kills the queen,do it late evening time when they are all returning to the nest, had same problem last week and it worked a treat.

I like your thinking about getting your wife to do it. I tried that but mine just said if I was stupid enough to think of that way then I am obviously stupid enough to do it. She wanted to call the local council to come and destroy it but they charge £50 just to stick a bit of spray into it and then again to remove it when they are all dead.
I just used a product called Raid wasp and fly killer. Did the job for me.

Again, flame thrower type devices. Too much dry scrub about at present and I'm no Red Adair.

I'm deffo going down the lab route.
Is it true if you pee on your pants then use them for a face mask you are immune to the effects of deadly chemicals??

Man up you bunch of faggots, only attempt this if you aren't allergic to stings .....I got a bin bag and some pruning shears, went down the garden at night, put the bag over the nest and the branch it was attached to, gathering it up around the branch, chopped the branch off with the shears, tied the bag off and pogo'd all over the bas**rds....job done, nothing to rebuild.
My mates mom had a nest in behind the mortar of the main wall of he ground floor flat, with that one I just silicon'd the b**gers in for eternity on that one, they weren't happy but having sticky wings slowed them down!

                            Push everything to the limit
if it breaks it wasn't strong enough
rebuild it and try again !

We had a couple last year the 1st one I paid a bloke £35 to do the job, and the 2nd got a spray from a local garden center and did it my self at dusk, got a bees nest this year, just not sure to destroy it or try and live with it(as the bee population is on the decline) only thing is its right in the middle of a patio in a sleeper and they seem to get a bit angry if we sit too close
