my son buys it now and then, hes more into the bling and modified side of things, but has said there alot of adds in there...unstandable as it pays for the mag no doubt

In days of old if you had a technical quiery you wrote to a magazine in the hope that in 3 months time your question got answered via a reply in the magazine.

Also if you had something to sell again send in a letter/form send it off (you know the rest)

You sit down with a pen and paper and 35mm camera, write a paragraph or two about your car and send in a couple of pictures, send it off (you know the rest)

That in turn creates an interest in actually going out and buying a magazine and that makes a magazine more succesfull with bigger budgets for features etc

How can print compare with instant information or sales via The Internet and in particular BB Forums that are free to use ?

If the only content submitted (if any !) to the mags is Scorts and Escys then that is all they can print about and the downward spiral (personal opinions that have been mentioned) continues and the magazine evolves to suit.

Hence we all wait for the next ESCORT Magazine to fill the gap left by the Escy press

i stopped paying subs for it afew years ago(both mags tbh) but i still find myself buying them most months.some are shit reads some are decent reads imo.im not that interested in bog standard escorts if im honest althought an article on something like an rs1800/rs1600/twincam etc is decent every now and then.if i dont like it though i wont buy it or read it as should everyone that dislikes it to be honest.i think your find there biggest selling issues have been with very modded escorts and the like.i thought rallye news was all about the standard bufty boy stuff or is it not like that now?
classicford show seems to get more interest more than other static shows simply becasue some thing happens there(and i ****ing hate drag racing).look at the lakes tour and snowdonia tours that is where it is all leading to imo for shows etc to go towards becasue most static shows are crap.respect to the guys and gals that do the concours stuff but it aint what most people want again imo.
like has been said you put a major show classic ford/retroford and all the others on at a track and people will flock to it much like again the lakes.which classicford attended and done a few decent articles on the vehicles present.
if the guys with the bog standard mint bufty escorts aint sending them info that they would like to be featured then they aint getting in lets be honest.most of the standard escorts on this site would get featured in either mag if you asked,but some people would rather not be asscaited(sp) with that type of mag.not a rant just my view on it all.
if you dont like it the same as anything in life dont buy.or as said right/email the mag with any issues.
i think classicofrd mag has got better since simon has been back to be honest

Can't see the problem with drag racing myself as all it is = timed acceleration over a set distance .
There's nothing wrong with timed acceleration results for modified cars or pics of them racing each other printed in a mag is there ? Better than seeing rows of Escorts on gay ramps with mirrors underneath !!!!!

we cant say what goes in the mags, we are too far away here in OZ. I think they should go back to the grass roots way of doing them ie: concentrate on the various models, have a good variety of standard and modded Fords, keep the competition cars in a separate area. Dont just do drag or drift, do all reports.
Just my opinion...I dont get and 4 cylinder mags here, it's Jap stuff or nuffing. ALL Crap!
