Having broke my alternator bracket and alt casing on the 1st day at croft, missing a day and a qtr track time (apart from the session i did in the x5) fitted new alternator yesterday! Took it up the road to check headgasket hadn't blown , as the car lobbed a litre of water out as the fan belt came off stopping the water pump working!
Drove 50yds up the road and some w***er had forgot to lock the bonnet pins ! Oh dear, one broke f/glass kevlar lid!
Punched the steering wheel booted the car and swore a lot
Not having the best of years with the car, lakes tour 3 headgaskets 1 block 1 alternator/bracket and now the firkin lid
On a happier note, headgasket seems ok, the x5 was a laugh on track and i managed to get 2 0 to 60 runs in the beemer of 7.5 secs Would have been quicker if i had switched off the lpg sooner!
