      BMEP = bhp x 13000 divided by litres x rpm .
      234 x 13000 divided by 2.1 x 8107 =
      3042000 divided by 17024.7 = 178 psi

              Also Andy Galagher has one oop Norf in sweaty sock land so maybe he could be persuaded to come along

                    Arron said on friday that classic ford were having quick pinto shootout
                    at HT,sure he said it was next week.

                    I did ask about the % loss.
                    He said the % stays the same.Its just that the more you have the more you lose.
                    100 bhp - 300 bhp would lose 3 times as much,the % figure would be the same.

                          Yes they've got a pinto dyno day at H.T's soon but it's invite only i think and not thrown open to everyone . A couple of my mates are taking their cars down for it .
                          In regard to your quoted 10.4% transmission loses (22bhp) then that is not enough , the loses on 234bhp would be around 37bhp (197bhp at the wheels) . They may have set up the dyno so that the "coastdown" transmission loses are a bit lower to keep the estimated flywheel numbers a bit more realistic . Don't forget that a rolling road can only measure power/torque at the wheels and the rest is a guess . Hope that makes sense .
