Had a long day on Friday 500 mile trip to HT at Brands hatch
had 3 cups of tea then another 500 mile drive home.
Was worth it though.

it drops just 10 lb ft

Ok i've just done some calcs on those figures and it don't add up so somethings wrong with the numbers .
Either the measured bhp at the wheels is wrong , the estimated flywheel bhp is wrong or both are wrong as the transmision loses are too small for the power level .
If we use the measured wheel bhp number of 211 to calcualte flywheel bhp then :
211 + 10 divided by 0.88 = 251bhp (not 234)


If we use the estimated flywheel figure of 234 to calculate wheel bhp then :
234 -10 x 0.88 = 197bhp (not 211)

The quoted 10.4% transmission losses (on the dyno chart) are way too small for an engine as powerfull as this and that's why the numbers don't stack up .
Hope that makes sense . It doesn't matter at all , it's just that i'm interested in engines and rolling road numbers so i always check them when i see them (sad git) !!!!

Any ideas for a reliable accurate rolling road to use

or how about a visit to a number of rolling roads over a period of time to see how peoples engines progress and perform on different rolling roads

The site will fund a trophy for the most consitent performer and maybe others could put up prizes etc for best improved - biggest blow-up on the day - biggest smile on the day etc etc etc
