    Dave

you also admitted on that post ( and to me on the phone ) that if you couldnt claim expences at every show you attended then you would REFUSE to do any registrar duties

That isnt a moral issue in my book

Anyway , I said i wouldnt post but being a gobby yorkshire man i cant help myself

I posted beacuse i cant leave your opening post to look like you have been victimised and that the club has done you wrong when in fact it hasnt

It wasnt the RSOC as a whole it was Duncan who took it upon himself to save the RSOC money and unfortunately I am the victim

I cant wait till his 1 man expenses crusade hits ALL other expense claimants as I am sure I wont be his last victim

Whatever the outcome of this regrettable situation Dave, I, like many others, appreciate the unpaid time and effort you've given to set up and maintain this valuable social and technical resource.
        Cheers,
        Mark

How are you a victim ?

you were not asked to repay the money as it wasnt an ilegal claim

you were not asked to resigne as registrar

You were not victimised by a committee or other registrar member

Your work as a reg wasnt at question

It was a reply by one or 2 who said moraly you were wriong and the fact that you and all other registrars were told that expensise would be looked at and that if you were on track or doing concourse and were attending anyway you MAY NOT be able to claim

I dont see why you feel any wrong done to yourself

It is very sad that the mk2 boys have lost a good registrar over a differance of opinion

I hoped Dave would reconsider but he wont

Dave, sad news indeed....you have done a grand job.

I for one can't see the problem if you claimed for the fuel.
At the end of the day you attended those shows on behalf of the RSOC and not as a member of joe public and if the RSOC wanted to question the claim it should of be done at the time of the claim or even refuse the claim and not drag this out at a later date.
The fact is the RSOC payed out so the claims were seen as reasonable and within the guidlines.

Having been part of the RS owners club for longer than I care to remember (lately as a non member watching from the sidelines), I remember welcoming Dave into the fold back when I was running a local club. Ever since then I have found him to be a well balanced, honest individual who would do anything he could to help people without a thought of personal gain.
Among the reasons I had for taking a back seat and eventually making a moral decision to no longer be involved with the club was the hypocrisy amongst the hierarchy and a lack of support from the members at club level, sounds like some things never change.
If Dave's resignation is final then that's a shame as he has been a great ambassador for the club, most of the times I have seen him lately he's been answering phone calls in relation to his position as registra, this is the side of things that people don't see, the thank less side of being involved with the club.

                            Push everything to the limit
if it breaks it wasn't strong enough
rebuild it and try again !

                              lookin in from the outside

like many others on hear i think its a shame its come to this.lets face it nobody knows the time ,effort and knowledge that goes into being a registrar unless your doin it.i myself always like to combine things together ie go there pick something up on the way back, common sence.SO if dave took his car to the show and participated at the event either track ,showing, valuations ,concorse whatever and only claimed for fuel personally as a rsoc member i cant see a problem.is there any difference lets say if another registrar goes in his own car also claims for fuel.no difference ok spose hes using more fuel if on a trailer but thats a bit petty. personally i dont think daves takin the piz.the effort has been made to attend, members like to see registrars at the showes espicially participating no matter in wot form.i think all you registrars have a tough job, dammed if i do dammed if i dont so to speak and each of you should appriciate wot the other is trying to do and dont forget that one day you too might want to combine(common sence) two or three things together at an event and claim fuel. my own view not knowing all the facts but just adding common sence.lets all kiss and make up
