Yeah we have one and it is one of the best things I have ever purchased (except the mk2 escort and all the things escort related )

it heats the whole house , and our gas bills have halved since getting it but i do get all my wood for nothing so its costing next to **** all to use

my garden and house is like a logging site now days though

we have a small one in the lounge and it would roast you out just putting coal and some logs works a treat and keeps the house warm all day

did not think you would need one as there seems to be plenty of hot air made in your house

Deffo a weekender louie or even less , me and my brother in law did mine in a day , that was from taking the old gas fire out, new register plate adaptor , lining the chimney repairing the old chimney stack , new pot , new hood for the pot etc etc

was going to get my bits from here

but needed everything quicky as i only had that weekend to get it done so i had to go to the local stove shop http://www.robeys.co.uk/ to get everything i needed , was more expensive but very good quality stuff

                          Hello Louie

I am not sure where you live at but if you are going to fit the stove I can tell you what you will require to do the job. I would say it is always best to get a HETAS approved fitter to do the fit, you have got to ask yourself would you fit a gas fire yourself rather than getting a CORGI fitter or what they are called now. Either way a badly fitted fire gas or wood burner can kill you or burn your house down. If you are going to fit the stove and you do not want to go to the expense of getting an approved fitter the other option is to file a building control submission, they will guide you on what you will need to do the job safely.

If you fit a stove in your house and you have not had it fitted by an approved fitter or had it inspected and signed off by building control your house insurance will not pay out in the event of a claim and you will have problems when you come to sell your house because the buyers will require the paperwork to show that the stove has been fitted correctly.

We go to lots of jobs where people have done a DIY job or a builder has fitted a stove and we usually find that the stoves are not fitted within accordance of Building Control Regulations and we have to take the stove out and re-fit it again.

Just a few things to consider, go and have a chat with a local dealer
